Young H. Chang (better known to her friends and customers as Mrs. Young) grew up in Korea, where she perfected her talents at a design school. While in the Korean design school, Mrs. Young opened her own dressmaking business. By the time she completed her education in 1976, Mrs. Young had already established a solid reputation as a reliable and talented seamstress. When she and her husband moved to the United States in 1977, Mrs. Young knew she wanted to reopen her business, but it was not until they moved to Charlotte in 1981 that she started up as a dressmaker again. Today, 21 years later, Mrs. Young and her husband, Young Hak Chang, own Young's Dress Maker & Alterations in Providence Square Shopping Center.
