Ultimate Diamond Co. was founded in 1959 in the heart of Manhattan's Diamond District. In the beginnings of the company, William Kung Sr., the founder of Ultimate Diamond Co., held three small diamonds in his hands. As time progressed, Ultimate Diamond built relationships with private clientele; relationships that continue to this day. At first, Ultimate Diamond Co. sold to individual clients. As volume increased, the company embarked on selling wholesale diamonds to stores and various dealers. The three solitary diamonds that were in William's hands soon turned into a large inventory. In 1990, Ultimate began dealing large and important stones, from 10 carats and beyond.
