I was considering working with Sweenie awhile back. You can even see Diane - who runs Sweenie leaving fake reviews below. I decided to contact the owners of the brands on Sweenies website to see how they liked working with Sweenie. 3 out of 3 I reached out to had the WORST experiences - poor quality products, crazy additional fees - most were barely able to financially survive the chaos Sweenie caused for their businesses. Funny enough, years later, I still come across people in the industry who have been hurt from Sweenies poor business practices. Stay away.

When I came across this American based company I was so excited as to what they had to offer. I never knew it could be so easy. They walked me through developing my line, the whole production process...such a learning experience as well! When all was said and done, I have a small quality line that I am looking forward to building. I would recommend Sweenie as the choice manufacturer for any budding swimwear company. The staff is helpful and the product is pristine.

  Swimwear design and Production

  Swimsuits FALLING APART - bad quality and unprofessional company

  Sweenie Manufacturing was highly unprofessional and a waste of our time and money, being highly detrimental to our newly launched swim brand. We were promised a high quality product and the expertise of a company that had been in the industry for years, but instead received quite the opposite. We started work on our line in September with Sweenie (being assured this would give us adequate time) and received our final order in mid-June, with the swim season being half over. The amount of back and forth that we went through in fixing simple corrections with our fit samples was ridiculous. It would take weeks, sometimes months to get back our samples that would continuously be returned incorrect and looking completely different - setting back strict deadlines and racking up shipping bills with no sense of urgency on their end. The bulk shipment was highly inconsistent with some suits being inches larger than others in the same size. On top of this, 25% of our final product was entirely UNUSABLE - seams were ripping open and straps were popping entirely off with the slightest tug on nearly 300 suits. Stickers and paper were also sewn inside many of our swimsuits between the two layers of fabric, with no way to remove them. Worst of all, we have had our reputation damaged (both from stores who were carrying our line as well as customers whose suits broke upon trying them on) during our most impactful first summer of business. When we brought these issues to Sweenie’s attention, there seemed to be no amount of remorse or desire to help remedy the situation, after we had invested our life savings, trust, and 2 years worth of planning into pursuing our dream with this company. After weeks turned to months with no empathy or haste to try and help fix all of this, we were forced to pay out of pocket for another factory to re-sew the unusable products we had received from Sweenie. We have now lost thousands of dollars and nearly the entire swim season with nothing being done to help us and we would not recommend anyone to work with this company!

  It's too bad this review is Anonymous as there is no way to respond, apologize for which parts might be true(since we have often customers changing there minds all the time which slows production, making late payments which slows production, some clients have zero experience and don't understand the different steps and are too embarrassed to ask questions so mistakes happen from there side) or if this is even a real company.

  Ash, we are sorry you could not see the value in our services. Our services exists so that people with no apparel experience at all, like yourself can actually see their product realized. Since we only worked together for a very short time in early 2012 before Makers Row even launched, we were very surprised to see a comment now.
