Southern Journeys is a worker-owned social enterprise. We draw our inspiration from piece sewing and quilting traditions originating in the rich cultures of West Africa. Our skilled and experienced member owners and sewers come from rural communities spanning the Alabama and Georgia Black Belt and the Mississippi Delta. Our products and designs”" Wheel of Freedom, Jacob's Ladder, Blues and Jazz Remix, African Garden and Middle Passage”" honor the spirit of our ancestors and celebrate our creativity as a people. Our company is committed to meaningful work and fair wages; cultural heritage preservation; environmental stewardship; and worker ownership and fair trade. Southern Journeys specializes in finely sewn handbags, accessories, and traditional quilts, but would be happy to discuss other products with you. If you can dream it, we can sew it.
