I am in the midst of creating my startup. I was having a difficult time finding contractors in my area. I decided it may be necessary to fly ta Cali, I already knew who I would fly to "Lipstick Prophets". I was excited. I spoke with Alli twice on the phone to never once did she tell me that they were not taking on startup clients at the time. Thank goodness for me I don't trust anyone and I never put all my eggs into one basket, but it is the principle. So two emails later someone informed me "...we are not taking startup clients at this time. When I email them I may have (just MAYBE) 10 questions. I was just confused why this freight train news came on so suddenly. I understand that they may have a lot going on but (maybe) that's when you tell me on the first call. In short they got me excited and making plans and then backed out. So startups beware, maybe they will play maybe not... But you better not dare ask too many questions... Or they might drop you. However if you do make the cut and to Lipstick Prophets I wish you the very best of luck and blessings to you.

The pattern makers are professional and I learned so much just in the time I was there. I have gone to visit many of the factories and this one was by far the perfect fit for my higher end line.

I opened doors to my Streetwear Line October 2013 of my Streetwear line and have been working with Alison and her innovative team of prophets for a little over a year. Ali took my conceptual idea to a brand in the matter of 6 months flat. But most importantly the quality, innovation and collaboration is what keeps my client happy and re-ordering again and again. I feel honored and lucky that lipstick prophets took me under their wing and have supported my growth, success and my dreams. This is a made in the USA with global class and quality. It is nothing short of an incredible opportunity to work with Alison and her team. Alison +Lipstick prophets = artistic fulfillment and success

  THE BEST.

  I have been working with Lipstick Prophets for the past 6 years, bringing them really challenging ideas to them. The entire company has been nothing but gracious,supportive and thorough, in helping me with my efforts to produce extremely unique, and difficult to produce apparel lines. I am also a fine art photographer, who has absolutely no clue about making clothes. That being said, Lipstick Prophets have done nothing but an amazing job in bringing my crazy ideas to light. I simply can't recommend this company enough.

  poor service, not customer friendly

  If you are a designer or looking for a full service company, and you are considering Lipstick Prophets, I suggest you keep looking. After 6 months with a simple design I left in disgust and frustration. I waited weeks for samples, the pattern making was poor, the samples were of poor quality and the owner showed no interest in the project or it's progress. However the invoices came promptly.

  Response from the manufacturer

  We have tried to speak with James about his unhappiness however, he is quite set with his anger. Lipstick Prophets stands behind it's quality and attempted to work things out with this client to no avail. If anyone is curious to view the sample and pattern in question, please contact us as both are beautiful and we would love to show you. James is a beginner and was not expecting the development process. Also, James was writing our accountant about the progress of his shirt instead of the studio manager so, this may be why he feels abandoned and over invoiced. Also- James left us without paying his final invoice.
