I've been super lucky to work with Kristin on my first foray into fashion. My day job is in advertising and my sewing skills are non-existent. She's been helpful, reliable and delivered exactly what I asked for. I would highly recommend her to anyone new to fashion. Her input was solid and she always took the time to help me understand the process. I'm still working with her and will continue to in the future. She's also normal on the phone. I know that's a weird thing to say but so often it's hard communicate with people about creative things but she totally got it and was able to understand what I was trying to convey with my woefully inadequate grasp of the manufacturing process. 100!

Excellent job!
Our company, Sword & Plough (www.swordandplough.com), makes it a priority to work with U.S. manufacturers that are veteran-owned or employ veterans in some capacity. We were excited to learn that Kristin was running a job skills program geared towards providing military veterans with industrial sewing training.
We worked with Kristin and her team to create a limited-edition line of t-shirts with pockets made from surplus military material. The products were delivered on time and looked great!

Excellence. We will Be Back for More!
As a new entrant to the apparel manufacture space, I wanted to find and work with a cut-sew shop that was experienced, respected, knowledgeable and affordable. KRYSI was all those and more. First off, the firm's owner Kristin and I met through a recommendation from an official at the local Chamber of Commerce. That recommendation didn't come lightly, and I didn't take it lightly. I also had a chance, prior to engaging her shop, to see work she and her team were producing for larger companies and other designers.
After the second consultation, Kristin helped me design a bow tie line. I left that meeting, bought fabrics that I took back to her shop, paid her fee (which was VERY fair), and eagerly awaited the transformation of fabric into product. The initial images of prototypes, generated great interest and buzz among the folks I shared photos with.
She's been completely professional throughout our engagement, and gone far above and beyond my expectations of a cut/sew shop or designer. She adjusted our designs, and made suggestions for fabric combinations and designs that helped us bring a lot more fun into the line. She kept us aware of hiccups in production, and also shared insights into the production process. She was also very willing to help us experiment and test out designs for fit and finish.
I can't wait to launch so that we can feature her shop and team in our marketing. Will come back here another time and share links to photos of the work she's done for us. Kristin and her team helped us launch, and I can't wait to head back so that we can soar!

Worst Experience. Extremely Unprofessional. Waste of Time and Money
If I could give "zero" stars I would....
After an initial meeting including thorough detail of what I wanted for my samples, I was given an itemized invoice as well as a 4 -6 week time frame for completion. FIVE MONTHS LATER, I have not seen one sample that has come close to an acceptable quality. Throughout the MONTHS, the owner would beat around the bush and make excuses for why things weren't done. Not only that but the pieces she did consider "complete" were extremely amateur. Zippers were sewn in improperly, seams were all rippled, the garments themselves were not even symmetrical. Given that the owner did not have a technical background in sewing, she went to school for graphic design and printed T-shirts, I attempted to tell her where changes needed to be made and how we could go about doing that since I did go to school for fashion design as well as work as a designer for years. This resulted in her lashing out, and taking absolutely no direction. Towards the end of my nightmare dealing with this, I started scheduling to come in once a week to try to see some sort of progress. (I saw only ONE incomplete sample in the first 3 months). Weeks would go by without any progress, or she would re-design my pieces and show me something that isn't what I even asked for, using my fabric. She was given everything she asked for and needed in the beginning, but later on when things weren't getting completed, would tell me she didn't have what she needed. Weeks would go by without hearing from her but then when I would stop in and ask her why something wasn't done, she would say she couldn't do it because she didn't know one thing or another and had to ask me. This was clearly an excuse for pure laziness because we all have phones and have the ability to text and email and she never once reached out to ask a question.
She has my deposit, and refuses to even give me anything until "the balance" is paid. After calculating what she actually completed (about half of what I asked her to do), I showed her that she has received more than enough and I would like the garments to at least be able to salvage the fabric from them since they are not even close to be sample quality. Not only that, she manipulated my adjusted invoice to try to make more money. She changed the rate per sample for every piece (like i wouldn't notice?) and also added a $200 "sample adjustment fee" at $25 per garment! I never even saw one completed sample to be able to even make an adjustment! This woman/company will be a wrench in any operation and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. This terrible experience has set me back MONTHS with absolutely nothing to show for it except she's used a lot of my fabric and will be keeping my deposit. I cannot post images here but I may be doing a blog post about this @www.styelries.com please check there for images and the full story!
Response from the manufacturer
We strive to work with all levels but when a customer is indecisive and doesn't listen our advice, then the project just won't turn out well in the end. We advised this particular customer that using invisible zippers on 4 way stretch fabric was a mistake unless there were other options to make it work, which we provided. Unfortunately this customer just wanted it her way no matter what which also included using cheap trims from fabric stores versus what we have available through our sourcing resources. All in all, it must be a partnership and trust. If someone is not going to trust our consultation, then how can we really help them? . We are excited with the customers we have assisted with their vision and achieve their goals. We have been steadily growing and excited about all the new projects with those we have been able to truly work with. One customer is about to launch their product QVC which is truly amazing. Bottom line, you win some, you lose some but any loss is a learning curve so that we can always strive to be better. .
