About Joy Horvath Joy Horvath is a handbag designer, sample maker, pattern maker, prototype developer & fabricator, experienced in leather & textiles. She has taught handbag pattern making at Fashion Institute of Technology and has owned her own factory in NYC. She is experienced in leather, canvas, vintage textiles, recycled rubber, vinyls, astro turf, spacer mesh, neoprene and exotic skins. She has developed prototypes & first patterns/samples for handbags, travel bags, holsters, baby carriers, and outdoor sculptures. She has experience with soft goods prototypes including baby items, pet items and sports items. Presently, Joy works on one project at a time, devoting her attention to one client at a time. She is ”hands on” and does the actual work herself. Each client gets the advantage of Joy’s personal experience and focus. Every project is treated as if it were her own design. She is also available to make runway pieces as well as execute restoration work on vintage pieces. Based in Connecticut, she has over 30 years of experience in hand making quality goods for the fashion industry. Her clients include Donna Karan, Armani A/X, Anne Klein, Valentino Garavani, Ralph Lauren, Fossil, Judith Jack and Kate Spade. In addition to fashion accessories, Joy Horvath has a small portfolio of product design. Her clients include The Isamu Noguchi Museum in NYC. HANDBAGS/ SOFT GOODS PROTOTYPES PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, PATTERN MAKING, SAMPLE MAKING, DESIGN WORK, PRODUCT ILLUSTRATION . EXPERIENCED IN LEATHER, TEXTILES, RUBBER AND SYNTHETIC LEATHER; SPECIALIZE IN UNUSUAL FABRICATION. FORMER FASHION INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR IN BAG PATTERN MAKING. OVER 30 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT. EXPERIENCE WITH START-UPS AS WELL AS TOP COUTURE DESIGNERS, I HAVE HAD MY OWN FACTORY AND SOLD TO TOP RETAILERS NATIONWIDE.
