About

-Apparel pattern maker with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Employed by Pearl Izumi as their in house pattern maker for 18 years and more recently as a contractor for various companies including: REI, ROKA Sports, Specialized, Elevenpine, Strafe Outerwear, Topo Designs, Stonewear, Voormi, Gaiam, and others. -Utilizing Gerber Accumark software for the creation, manipulation and storage of patterns. Able to import and export pattern files utilizing this system to be able to "talk" with other software, both domestically and internationally. -Proficient in creating first patterns from samples, measurements or existing patterns. -Expert in fitting garments particularly in athletic apparel. -Precision pattern grading utilizing ASTM guidelines or client's specifications. -Efficient fabric usage through the use of markers utilizing Gerber Accumark. -Able to create prototypes from client's patterns thus saving time and an additional step of sending it out to a seamstress.

Best Pattern Maker I’ve Worked With

I have worked with a few other pattern makers and there is really no comparison between Jennie and the others i’ve worked with. I relocated from NYC to Colorado last year and wanted to work with a local pattern maker for some prototypes. She is concise, experienced, comfortable with technology and offers the novice or experienced designer a foot up. She is fair, transparent and professional. If you want to know what its like to work with a professional skilled pattern maker that is also a genuinely nice person to work with, Jennie Yu is your best choice.
