Jay has manufactured women's apparel for 30 years. He ran a Seventh Ave. showroom during the 1980's and went to school at night at FIT. He has been representing suppliers of fabric, notions, trims and garment construction necessities to independent designers, uniform companies, event planners, garment manufacturers and others since 2002. So I sent the company an email asking if they could provide me with swatches. Instead I got a rude email asking me if "I have the budget to produce my collection in $xxxx amount. Besides I need to pay him $xxxx amount for preparing the swatches. The email ended with "It's too much work for him". I would've expect a more kind response from them. That is all. Yikes!!!
I was searching for a manufacturer, and how to get my project from from the idea stage to production. Jay was immediately responsive and led me to materials and production companies that were the exact right fit for my needs. His extensive experience in the industry and willingness to help, make him an invaluable source of knowledge for anyone ready to make their ideas come to fruition.
To put it simply, Jay was extremely helpful and met my every need. I have been looking for a mentor that is experienced and highly educated in the garment industry. Learning about Jay I realized I found an industry specialist with 50 years in the industry and vast knowledge in sourcing fabrics, trims, etc. from various high quality vendors made in America. In my experience with Jay, the most valuable contribution was his willingness to share his knowledge and experience that will help me produce high quality apparel and assist me while I choose the right materials going into my product. That information is the key for me. I have every intention to stay in contact with Jay for sourcing materials and hopefully get the chance to pick his brain along the way.

I have worked with Jay in the past and he is a delight to work with. He helped me with my very first order and showed me all the fabrics that I could order with very low minimums.
