General Plastic Extrusions, Inc.

The story of General Plastic Extrusions began in 1985 when Grant Durhman was selling feed to farmers. Grant and his father, Neil Durhman patented the Bag A Load System for loading wet brewers' grains into silage bags. In 1986, they began folding silage bags and continued to work with farmers on this alternative storage and cattle nutrition. In 1993 Grant purchased his first blown film line and began producing small polyethylene bags as he founded General Plastic Extrusions. In 1994 they sold their silage bag folding business and Grant began to pursue his newly founded blown film company. Today General Plastic specializes in custom orders of poly bags, and film products. The majority of our customer base includes the food, industrial, and automotive industries. We have tailored our operations around our customer's desire for high quality products and personal service. General Plastic has continued to expand its production capabilities. Originally a manufacturer of narrow monolayer tubing and bags for industrial packaging, the operations have expanded to include three and five layer co-extrusion capabilities. Today General Plastic runs 11 blown film lines including one 5-layer, two 3-layer and eight mono layer lines. General Plastic continues to find ways to bring more product offerings to its customers as it plans for future growth particularly in co-extruded products.
