Alan initially was very receptive. Very helpful with the first meeting, as I am new to this industry. Provided me with lists of fabric manufacturers and a ton of info. In the beginning, answered all my e-mails in a timely manner. Always answered my questions. I sent him two e-mails with updates, looking to set up another meeting as I had furthered the process with getting my fabrics to bring to him. He didn't answer either e-mail. I took it personally thinking he didn't want to work with me because I was not very experienced within the industry. But after seeing other reviews, it seems that this is how he operates his company. I won't bother e-mailing again.
Following the video review on Maker's Row I contacted Alan who expressed considerable interest in working with us, as we are an established company (25 years) and could guarantee continual work for him. We sent our factory manager out to NY from the west coast (at obviously some significant expense) to discuss our projects with the aim of finding the best fit work based on his machines and experience. We left him some samples to make up. Since then, nothing. No response to phone calls, texts, email and not even the decency to return our samples and fabrics we felt with him. Unfortunately the garment business is plagued by unprofessional companies like this, and over the years we have come across many, but this one I think wins the prize for sheer rudeness and incompetence. Alan may have been afraid of losing face for not having responded to our initial request for progress reports, so just decided to ignore all communications, but he has sure lost face big time now with us and hopefully everyone else who is looking for a factory on Maker's Row. Do NOT even consider using Dynotex (assuming they are still in business).

Although they couldn't help me with my project. I was referred to several possible companies who could. To me, sharing knowledge and selflessly helping other are great qualities I look for in business partners. Hopefully, we will be able to work together I the future.
I came to Dynotex because I had read reviews here that were very favorable. I got a very good impression on my first meeting with Alan. However I ended up having the worst experience with them!!! We were supposed to be working on a timeline we agreed upon, my fabrics were delivered to them at the time of our kickoff meeting and a couple weeks after when I tried to reach out to them to see how everything was going I did not get any response!!. I tried to reach out to them for the following 2 weeks with only radio silence. Finally, a week before my dresses were supposed to be delivered I get a barely apologetic email from Alan saying they had some internal problems and he would not be able to work on my things!!!! This means, my fabrics were sitting, untouched in his factory for 6 weeks while he worked on his big client McLaughlin, and he did not say anything to me until 1 week before our agreed delivery date!!! I missed my delivery dates with my wholesale clients and put me in a very delicate position with them. When I showed up to pick up everything to swiftly take it to another factory to see if I could still save things, Alan was dazed and showed little remorse or concerns about this big mess up. So don't ever trust these people.
I had a great meeting with Alan to talk about my designs and drop off my fabric and trim. There was a delay in getting started because my check was lost in the mail (nobody's fault but did delay things by a few weeks). I waited for about a month for my samples to be finished, but then I was told they didn't have the right machine and couldn't finish the project. Then I was told they had gotten a new one and maybe they could do it. Then I was told the new machine was missing pieces and it definitely wasn't possible. I had to go pick up a bag of my fabric (already cut into pattern pieces) and the first round of patterns (which I had to pay for) but no actual samples. Alan was very nice about it and apologetic, but I still felt jerked around and frustrated. I assume he knew he didn't have that machine when he accepted my job, so I don't feel like that was really a good faith effort. Anyway, I contacted a bunch of other factories before choosing Dynotex so I was really disappointed that this didn't work out. Back to the drawing board.
Very professional company. They are responsive and their cut and sew product is excellent. They also deliver as promised. I highly recommend.
We have been working with the team at Dynotex for almost a year at this point and will be going forward with them for production in 2015. Our first collaboration with them was a really complicated customizable product and they were able to handle it in it's entirety and do a great job. They're professional, communicate well, and get the job you need done. They're capable of working with different fabrics and styles (wovens, knits, denim - they make womenswear and men's clothing).
