CDS is wonderful to work with on projects whether its a startup or an established brand. They helped us get our ideas into prototypes and helped us figure out how to get started into the fashion world. They are very focused on sustainability and being an ethical fair wage employer which is very important!

  Clothier Design Source has helped with a number of stages of my product's development: design consultation, materials sourcing, pattern making and grading, prototypes, sample size set, and tech pack. I had an idea and a homemade prototype, and they've helped me translate that to a product ready for manufacturing.   I came to CDS with a complex project that required a lot of out-of-the-box ideas and much revision based on my continually changing needs as each prototype progressed. I especially appreciated their working with me to test out several unconventional ideas which ultimately paid of in a garment that I am very happy with. Especially with my "I''m not sure if this will work but I want to try it" approach, the CDS team put in a huge amount of work for my unique project and I greatly appreciate the effort they put in to each step of the process.   2 weeks to get a $6725 quote for one garment

  I was torn on whether to share my experience and decided I needed to let others on Maker's Row know. If I hadn't already dealt with several other companies of similar ilk, I may have been swindled into paying the quote given to me. Take heed the age old advice of getting three quotes! For the exact same single garment project, I received quotes of $1150, $1290 and a whopping $6725 from CDS. This quote was after waiting almost 2 full weeks to get a response. The other two companies responded immediately. That experience leaves me dubious CDS is staffed/able to complete a project on time, on budget. After sending a shocked reply back I was told they basically include every service possible on the quote. Not really a good look in my opinion. Unfortunately I don't have the time or the money to waste with CDS.

  Dear Dai, We’re so sorry that you didn’t have a wonderful experience with us. The quote did take longer than usual to send out (8 business days). Before sending, our team met to discuss your timeline as that is a major concern for your project. We wanted to make sure that we provided you with a realistic estimate of the time needed to complete the work. With our current booking of two weeks out per step, we did not want to promise a sooner delivery date than our schedule allows. The quote included a full gamut of our services so you could see what a complex project like yours may look like (12+ sizes, 3D prototypes) from beginning to end. I am not sure if the other quotes you received were apples to apples. We run our business with honesty, transparency and with our client’s best interest in mind. We strive to keep all customers satisfied with our work, and find a price point that provides a successful outcome while sustaining our complex operation.
