Clean Air Woodworks is a small design-build-manufacturing firm that focuses on modern designs, zero-VOC finishes, reclaimed and sustainable wood, and wooden creations of all types. Custom wooden furniture, small to medium sized production runs of wooden parts, and wooden housewares and commonly asked for items. Wooden Yurt Tents are produced in our factory under the name of Clean Air Yurts. We create unique handmade pieces and products using predominately locally cut and milled hardwoods from the Hudson Valley of NY. Wide live edged slabs for dining tables and benches are a specialty, as well as the use of lesser known local woods such as locust, hackberry, and catalpa. We can incorporate exotic woods into our designs and occasionally import exotic woods for specific customer projects. Our capabilities are varied and perfect for beginning product designers. We can work with wood, metal, fabric, leather, fiberglass, stone, and plastic. We welcome prototype work and small orders as well as large production runs. Our turnaround times are fast for small orders as we can often fit in those orders around current work and our customer service is second to none. Our current product lines include wide slab dining tables, live edged benches, wood block stools, steam-bent wood products, locust and ipe Adirondack chairs, cutting boards, housewares, and small goods. Our in-stock products are constantly changing, but usually include several dining tables, benches, and other smaller wood creations available for immediate sale. Our stock of wood slabs is constantly changing, but we keep enough on hand for several projects at any one time, facilitating prototype work.

A single slab of red oak 40-41 inches wide tops this live edge dining table. With natural live edges and skewed curved ends, this table makes a dramatic statement.

Excellent service, really cares
Matt recently completed a first round of prototypes for my project. I was familiar with plastics and metals, but not wood, so Matt helped me out with design decisions and suggested great ways we could reduce costs for larger-scale manufacturing. He went out of his way to make sure I was satisfied with the prototypes. When I am ready to scale up manufacturing, I will definitely be using Clean Air Woodworks!

Very Professional

Kitchen Island
Matt build a wooden tabletop for our new kitchen island. It's the centerpiece of our open plan home, and we're extremely pleased. He was a pleasure to work with. He was involved from start to finish, his responses were timely and detailed, and he stayed on top of us during our busy renovation to make sure we were keeping the project on our minds. His install was thorough and very good, including detailed instructions on care for the tabletop. He walked me through how he was doing the install, explained the process, was respectful of our personal things, and quick and efficient. The table itself is beautiful. All around a very good craftsman and person.

A great collaborator...
I'm a graduate student working on a few concepts for a thesis project and I recently came across Matt on the site. I needed to get a few prototypes off the ground, so I approached him about working together on it. I had a general idea of what I wanted, but lacked a lot of the real knowledge that was needed to fulfill my idea. Matt was super helpful and easy to work with. He not only met me within my means as a student, but also offered his expertise and support to ensure I got a quality concept developed. I'm very happy with what he produced for me and I certainly will be coming back to him for future projects.
