    TALENT & EFFICIENCY

Knitwear Department: Kelly Puertas, knitwear director assisted by Zenzele Cesare and Olivia Eaton. I am a milliner (hat designer) and I recently had some machine knitted pieces made at the BFDA for winter hats. I had never dealt with this kind of production before. Kelly was very helpful and great with communications, explaining everything, helping me source yarn on cones, and keeping me posted by email at every step, from sampling on through the process. Production schedule went as planned, and the finished work was very fine, I was happy with the result. The pricing is competitive, and they were meticulous about quality control. All team members are capable and accomplished individuals. My project was rather simple, but they had some complex pieces underway with sophisticated interpretation of the design into knitwear. Also it is part of an interesting organization with the mission of helping small businesses; they have events on topics like sustainability. I have been recommending this group to my designer friends. They can be contacted through their website.
