American Spool & Packaging, Inc. is a forty-nine year old (since 1966!), privately held corporation. We are located in Hartsville, SC and our forty plus employees produce out of a 93,000 square foot manufacturing facility conveniently located near the intersection of I-95 and I-20. Our primary business is converting sheets and mill rolls of various paper grades into specialty packaging products. Our product line includes, but is not limited to: saw cut and bladecut spiral paper tubes; folding paper cartons; paper spools and reels; sleeves and trays; plain or printed/diecut cards for clamshells, blister cards, hanger cards and header cards; specialty die cuts; sheeted papers and boards; and, slit papers. AMSPAK's market is nationwide with limited export. Our customer base includes 300+ customers, representing a variety of industries, such as: food products; ribbon; textiles; narrow fabrics; pharmaceuticals; personal care; hardware; zippers/hook & loop; rope/cordage; electronic components; insulation; wire/cable; rubber hose; auto trim; and, book binders. We are proud to service some of the world leaders in several of these product categories. We have five paper tube winding lines and eight tube recutters to manufacture spiral paper tubes ranging from 1/2" to 25ê in length, with IDês from 5/8" to 16", and wall thicknesses up to .700". Finally, AMSPAK has three paper slitters, a sheeter and a large-format guillotine. Five printing presses of varying size and format capabilities (including narrow and mid-web flexographic and modified letterpresses) give AMSPAK great flexibility in meeting a variety of print requirements from one to eight color, to process with aqueous coatings. Also, we offer in-house design, pre-press and plate making capabilities. Our printing is complemented with seven die cutters, three of which are Bobst. We can diecut paperboard sheets (36" x 49" max) from .010" to .170" thickness in virtually any shape you desire. Both rotary and flatbed/platen die cutting is available. For finishing folding cartons, AMSPAK has three folder-gluers, including straight line, auto-bottom, four/six corner and windowing.
