About

Thirty years ago, in a small garage behind Hyde Park’s famous Medici restaurant, our business began with unfinished pine bookcases at a few standard sizes. Buoyed by demand from the University of Chicago, we expanded our reach to hardwoods-- and then cabinets, and then custom built-ins, followed a few years later by desks, occasional tables, and office pieces. As variety increased, so did the size of our operation: we opened a showroom in Evanston and another in Lincoln Park, and moved our workshop to a larger space on the Lower West Side from which we have now been building our work for almost two decades. Today, our business excels in fully customizable bookcases, cabinetry, tables, media centers and--especially--built-ins, though we continue to stock and retail commonly requested pieces in our showrooms. Our projects come in all sizes. We regularly design room-encompassing libraries; we just as often cut individual shelves at custom dimensions. Similarly, our work comes in a wide breadth of styles, from traditional to modern and everything in between.
